At Northumbrian Lodge your hosts take pride in making sure that our guests enjoy accommodations which are comfortable and relaxing, equipped with everything a successful vacation getaway requires. There is a Trailer Park and tenting area for travellers as well. Northumbrian Resort accommodates large or small family groups for a fishing vacation getaway.

Accommodations

Our cabins range from 2, 3, 4 or 5 bedrooms. All have bathrooms with flush toilets, showers or baths and hot/cold approved water. Plenty of blankets with bed linen and towels are provided.

All shopping and other services are within three miles, including churches, stores, dances, movies, golf, liquor store, doctors and photo services.

Our cabins are well spaced giving more privacy. Lakes in northwestern Ontario are crystal clear, pure and miles away from pollution, the nicest sandy beach in the area is just footsteps away.

The accommodations have recently been updated to almost new condition, fully modern rental cottages, clean and comfortable - heated by oil with electric lighting, refrigerators, and electric stoves. All cooking equipment is supplied, including dishes, and utensils.

Children will enjoy swimming and water games, building sand castles on the sandy beach and playing in the playground. A large gazebo sits by the lake ready for family BBQ’s. There is a TV room and souvenir shop on site, Umfreville Trail a 5-mile fully paved walking and bike path that leads right into town.

Family Vacations

Sit back amongst the towering pines and take in the peaceful, scenic wilderness that surrounds Abram Lake, hike along an old logging trail and relax by a river to watch the rapids and listen to nature.

Family Activities

We have the ideal location for family vacations. We are within 4 miles of Sioux Lookout, the "Gateway to the North," offering swimming activities for children and day long wake boarding lessons. Hiking trails nearby take you to historic sites like Sioux Mountain; where from the summit, you can see miles in every direction. There is a fully paved path at the end of our road that extends all the way to Sioux Lookout. Within walking distance, there are 3 all sand bottom beaches within 1 mile of our resort. Drop off your children at Cedar Bay Children's Camp where they can learn to ride horses, learn about the woods and interact with other children their age. Golf and fishing packages are also available; Ojibway Golf course is a challenging 9 hole course that will challenge even the most serious golfer. New this year at Northumbrian is our "Weekly fish fry" for the whole resort.
